come and join us
Come to Finkins Café in Shepshed Market Place, every other Wednesday between 5 and 7pm. See dates and map below.

The cafe stays open just for our group, providing subsidised drinks, plus a delicious range of cakes and other refreshments..

We are a warm and friendly group, guaranteeing confidentiality and care, led by a small team of qualified local volunteers, supported by the NHS.

Some of us gather in the comfortable seating at the back of the cafe, where we consider an aspect of mental health or wellbeing.
Members of the group may connect and share if we wish to, or simply sit quietly and listen.

Others sit in the main cafe area for 1:1 conversations, or to relax with table games or activities.

wHo WE ARE
The group was set up in January 2026, and is led by a group of Shepshed volunteers, supported by the NHS. We have a range of specialisms and qualifications in mental health and wellbeing. We started the group from a passion to help and support those who have their own mental health challenges and/or wish to improve their wellbeing and resilience.

Dave is a qualified and experienced personal and group coach, trained in mental health, mindfulness and wellbeing, with experience of working through his own mental health challenges. He is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider. He is a long-time resident of Shepshed, a member of Forest House Surgery PPG and an active member of the local running club.
